HELP TO WOUNDED SOLDIERS.
TO THE EDITOK. Sin,—ln a recent letter which appeared in the London the writer laments that the hospitals in Capetown are so badly provided with walking sticks for the use of convalescent soldiers. The ladies of the Committee formed here this week to help provide our wounded with comforts have requested me to write and ask if sympathisers in the country here would feel disposed to help to fill up this want. The sticks should be strong enough to support the tallest man, and yet should not be more bulky than necessary. They should also, if possible, have a knob of some description on the top. If eaih kindly disposed farmer would provide a dozen or so of these necessaries, they would have the satisfaction of knowing they were in truth showing practical sympathy. As I understand the Contingent leaves on the 30th of this month, it is easily seen that there is no time to spare and that the sticks should be sent at once. Thanking you for insertion.—l am, etc., Secketary op Comhittee.
