Owing to the plague the Moana, carrying the outward 'Frisco mail, will carry no passengers for New Zealand ANOTHER DEATH IN SYDNEY. (Received 12, 11.34 p.m.) Sydney, March 12. Owles, the plague nation* - , is dead. (Received 13, 1.45 a.m.) Sydney, March 12. Another of the lads Dovey has developed the plague. Received 13, 1.50 a.m. Sydney, March 12. A man named Keene has been attacked by the plague.
PRECAUTIONS IN NEW ZEALAND. Wellington, March 12. The City Council has decided to offer a bonus of a penny for every rat taken to the destructor. The Cabinet met this evening, and had under consideration the recommendation of the Central Board of Health in connection with the bubonic plague. The members of the Government are loth to impese tbe quarantine restrictions on those c ilonies where there has been no outbreak of the dreaded disease, and are in communication with the Governments of those colonies, seeking information as to what precautions they are taking to prevent New South Wales residents passing through their respective colonies Another Cabinet meeting will piobably be held to-morrow.
