I ♦— > [FROM OUB OWN COBRESPONDKNT.I I hear that Mr. 0. Dunn has sold his i 82 acre farm, which is situated i to the Co-operative Daily Factory, i and was bought by Mr. J. Minchin, i of the Durham Road, for a very satisfactory figure. Mr. Minchin, I be--1 Hove, has procured the property for his i oldest son. The other day I had the pleasure of inspecting, in the garden of Mr. i Laurent, senior, some very heavy crops of peaches. Some half-dozen large trees are literally loaded with this favourite fruit. Two trees especially, of the Royal Clinton varieties, were perfect pictures, being laden with splendid crops of fine large peaches excellent quality. Although at the time of my visit a large quantity had been picked or had fallen off the trees, yet a very fair crop remained. Mr. Laurent intends exhibiting the Royal Clinton peach at the forthcoming show in Inglewood, and will doubtless get the first award again this season, as he did last. With the exception of Mr. Laurent's, there are I very few peaches grown in this neighi bourhood, most of the trees having died jof the poach blight. Mr. Laurent also i expects to get the first prize for his \ Northern Greening apples, of which j lie has a splendid sample. | I am sorry to say that the oodlin moth has made its appearance in some .of the orchards here this season. He thinks wo have been free from this most destructiva pest. ! The heat here the last few days has been intense, —the hottest weather for the season.
