BRITISH OCCUPY THK TOWN. THE BOERS IN FULL RETREAT TO THE NORTHWARDS. BRITISH ADVANCE GUARD CROSSING THE TUGELA. (Received 21, 10.30 p.m.) London, February 21. General Buller has telegraphed that the enemy have practically abandoned Colenso.

Major Havt occupied the town, after slight resistance, and the enemy were seen in full retreat to the northward, only a weak rearguard holding the position across the Ladysmith railway. Major Hart's advance guard is now crossing the Tugela at Colenso.
