It is unofficially stated at the War Office that Commandant Cronje, who was overtaken by the British troops, on his retreat from Magersfontein, has been surrounded. Unconfirmed reports state that General French has headed Commandant Cronje, and is trying to drive him into the hands of Generals KellyKenny and Mac Donald at Klipkraal. The trains are now running to Kimberley.
