[FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, February 20. John Kobinson, steward of the Wakatu, disappeared on the voyage between Lyttelton and Cheviot. The water was quite smooth and the deceased sober. He was about 40 years of age, and had a wife and four children at Lyttelton. . Auckland, February 20. The body of John Lawson, who recently purchased Beeson's Island, Coromandel, wus found some distance from the homestead. He hud shot himself. The deceased hid been despondent for some time. At the inquest, the jury returned a verdict of 'temporary insanity. Lrwson was aged 54, and was a natiye of Kansas, United States, whore he has a siator.
