MELBOURNE CLUB v. AtJOKLAND. THE VISITORS MAKE A BIG SCORE, —— « 1 [PES PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, February 16. The Melbourne v. Auckland match was s continued to-day. Melbourne put up the big score of 554 for the innings, 1 l'he other principal scorers were:— Graham 67 Russell 68 Jacobs 55 Ross 42 Aitken .. .. .. .. 46 The most successful bowlers were I. Mills, two wickets for 25 ; Mcßae, 3 for 81. Auckland commenced their innings - it 4.50 p.m., and had four wickets ( clown for 14, but Hay and Stemson same to the rescue, and when stumps 1 were drawn the score was 57 for 5 ivickets, 1 Hay 21 Stemson, not out .. .. 28 * In the bowling, Trumble and Gave proved much too good. Trumble took r 2 wickets for 21; Gave, three for 34, The match will be continued to- y morrow. a Waitara defeated New Plymouth in a Sbnior Cup match on Thursday by j two runs, the scores being 38 and 36 C respectively. "
