A large ] * quantity of furniture and sundries was disposed of at prices in favor of purchasers. Fruit.—At sales during the week the following prices were realised: Apples, Is 6d to 3s per box; plums, 4s to 6s 6d; peaches, 5s 6d to 8s; nectarines, 5s to 7s 6d; damsons, 3s to 4s; tomatoes, us to 7s ; pears, 2d lid to 5s 6d; grapes, 8d to 9d. Sheep.—At Toko on Monday I held my Annual Fair. Considerably more sheep cams forward than were advertised, there being folly 20,000 yarded. There was a large attendance, but the bidding was slack acd in very few cases reached vendors' reserve*, which, based upon recent private sales, were really too high. The consequence was that most lines were passed at the hammer, and although with the help of reduced reserves a considerable amount of business was done afterwards, still a good proportion of the entries went home. Full-mouthed ewes made 5s to 6s Id; 2-tooth ewes, 7s Id to 9s; ito 6-tooth ewes, 6s 4d to 7» 6d; 2-tootb wether;, 7s 7d to 9s 84; shorn lambs, 3a to k is lOd; woolly lambs, 6s to 7s 4d. Oalve« made 12s 63 to 193 Gd; springers, L2 15s 6d; fat cows, L 3 : fullmouthed ewes, 4a 3d; shorn lambs, ss; back, L 6 10s. At Waitara on Tuesday, 13th, owing to harvest and other attractions there was not the usual muster. Bidding at the hammer did not reach late prices, but the majority of lines were sold after. Calves, 12s to 225; yearlings, 24s to 30s 6d; 18-month steer*, L2 lis 6d; springing heifers, L2 10s to L 3 2s 6d; fat cows. L3to L 3 4s. At the sheep fair on Wednesday bidding was dull. We placed lines of ewes, 2 to 6-tooth, at 9s; wethers, 9s 6d; lambs in wool, from 6s 9d to 8s 9d; rams, from 10s to 30s; also a good line of 2-tooth ewes and wethers at 10s 3d. MESSRS ALFRED BUOKLAND & SONS' WEEKLY REPORT. Auckland, February 18. Messrs. Buckland and Sons report:—At the Haymarket auction sale on Friday, meadow hay brought Is 9d to 2s; oaten sheaves, 2s per cwt.; maize, 2s 4d; oats, Is 6d; wheat, 2s per bushel; ex store maize, 2s 4d; wheat, 2s 7d; oats, 2s to 2s 6d per bushel; pressed hay, 2s 9d; pressed straw, 2s 6d; chaff, Is 9d to 2s 6d per cwt. On Friday, horse stock, yarded numerously, were required. Strong draught ranged I from £l7 to £3O; medium draught, £8 to £ls; riding horses, £6 to £ls; an unbroken medium draught, £lB 10s; Judge Byron, 29 guineas. On Tuesday, bides sold freely. Ox hides were from 4£d to 6d; cow hides, 4Jd to 5d ; calfskins, 4<t to 5Jd; fat, ljd per lb; tallow, 18s 6d to £1; bones, 4s per cwt.; sheep pelts, lldto 3s 9d; lambs, Is 6d to 2s 7d each ; fleece wool, 5d to 6d; lambs' wool, 4|d to 5Jd; locks and pieces, 2d to 4d lb. Tuesday's sheep fair has been fully reported. Compared with last season's prices, there was an all-round improvement, more marked cm heavy-woolled sheep than crossbreos, and this would have been greater but for the prolonged drought. In many pens of young Lincoln, ewes were from 12s 6d to IBs each; fresh-mouthed, long-woolled ewes, from 8s to 10s 6d ; aged ewes, 3s 6d to 6s; fairly good lambs, 5s 6d to 7s 6d; inferior, 2s 6d to 7s 6d; wethers, 7s 3d to 9s 3d each. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows, yarded numerously, were freely competed for. Those advertised from Whangarei brought from L 3 2s 6d to LG 5s each. Calves, in moderate number, were required. Young calves were from 3s to Gs each; medium, 7s to 17s; heavy calves, 19s to LI 12s (55 sold). B"at cattle, in less than average number, wore firm at last week's quotations. Steers and heifers, 17s to 18s thelOOlbs; cows, 12s to 15s; steers, fromLs 2s 6d to L 8 12s Gd each; cows, L 3 10s to L 6 15s (116 sold). Fat sheep, yarded in average number, scarcely obtained last week's values. Wethers were from 8s 9d to 13s 3d each; ewes, 6s to 9s 9d (1200 sold). Lambs, in moderate number, were of good quality, and broueht satisfactory prices. The greater number brought from Ss to 13s each (310 sold). Pigs, in full number, were at easy values. Useful killing pigs brought from 13s to LI 10a each (83 sold).
