Under cover of their lirn a number of Boers, about 2QO strong, were creeping up the hill and taking advantage of every piece of cover. Oapt'iin Orr, of tho Yorkshires, fell badly wounded and a few of his men ilso fell. Captain Madocks, hearing the heavy firing on the Yorkshire side, rushed up and found the men waver-' it g.
