THE BOERS AROUND COLESBERG.
THEY HOLD A STRONG POSITION. (Reoeued 12, 9.15 a.m. London, February 11. The Boers at Colesberg are not surrounded, but hold the whole of the Northern Colesberg district, extending in a semi-circle east and west, and they present a strong thirty mile front, with full line of communication with the Free State. A WAll CORRESPONDENT MISSING. (Received 12, 9.30 a.m.) JjONDosf, Februaiy 11. Mr. Hales, the war correspondent of a Westralian paper, it also missing since the reconnaissance by the colonials at Colesberg. THE EFFECT OF THE LYDDITE. A BOER GUN SILENCED. (Received 12, 9.40 a.m.) Capetown, February 11. Lyddite shells silenced the Boer Vickwrs-Maxim gun, which was annoying the British near Cole's Kop. The explosive had a great effect on the rocks. One treme»d«us boulder was lifted fifty feet in the air and deposited 300 feet away.
