THEFT OF £4000
j PAY ROLL ROBBERY New South Wales Bank Suva. July 2. The Bank of New South Wales was robbed of £4OOO between midnight on Wednesday and daylight on Thursday. The money was taken from the strongroom, in which it was contained in a box ready to take to the Tavua mines for the payroll. The box was found across the road broken open. The cash and notes were taken and a few drafts were left. No” locks were broken and the strongroom is intact.
