Fourth round: Henkel and von Gramm (Germany) defeated Hare and Wilde 6 —4, 4 —6, 6 —3, 7 —5. Budge and Mako (U.S.A.) defeated Bromwich and Sproule 6—2, 7 —5, 6 8, 6—2. Hughes and Tuckey (England) defeated Nakano and Yamagishi 6 —2, 6—2, 6 —2. Hughes and Tuckey, holders of the title, will meet Menzel and Hecht (Czechoslovakia), in the semi-final in which Von Cramm and Henkel play Budge and Mako. The matches will represent players who are engaged in the Davis Cup. WOMEN’S SINGLES. Semi-finals: Miss .Tedrzejowska (Poland) defeated Miss Marble (U.S.A.) B—6, 6 —2. Miss Round (England), who was titleholder in 1934, defeated Mme. Mathieu (France), 6—4, 6—o. COMBINED DOUBLES. Semi-final: Budge and Miss Marble (U.S.A.), defeated Mako and Miss Jedrzejwska (Poland) 6 —3, 6 —2. WOMEN’S DOUBLES. Fourth round: Misses Dearman and Ingram (England) defeated Misses Round and Heeley (England) 9—7, 7—5.
