Cost Of Singapore Scheme Press Association —Copyright. Rugby, July 1. It was stated in the House of Commoii£* to-day that the total estimated cost of the military air base at Singapore was £4,500,000. The cost incurred up to Marph 31 was £1,394,- ■ 000. This had been met by .contribui lions from New Zealand, the Feder- [ ated Malay States, and from the Suli tan and State of Johore, amounting i to £250,000, and the remainder from | the air votes. i In addition, there was a gift of Hail’d' by the Government of the Straits Settlements.
