More than 300 debutantes curtseyed to their Majesties at the court held at Buckingham Palace. The King created a precedent by wearing the grey and blue uniform of a Marshal of the Royal Air Force. A brilliant scene was witnessed as the King led the Queen through the white and gold throne room to a dais, where their Majesties took their seats on scarlet and gold thrones.
