Membership and Funds. I Tracing the history of the A.0.F., 1 Bro. Hunt said that the order now numbered 876,000 members and rhe funds exceeded £17,000,000. Bro. Frewin, in responding, mentioned the significance of the symbols of Forestry. Bro. R. E. J. Kivell apologised for the absence of the first chief ranger of Court Stratford, Mr G. A. Marchant, of Cardiff, who was now 88 years of age. Further apologies were j tendered on behalf of Bro. C. A. Mari chant, Mr T. R. Anderson, chairman 1 of the Stratford Hospital Board, Mr : T. L. Penn, secretary to the Board, ' and Mr P. Thomson, the Lodge's legal adviser. He referred to the asj sistance given by Dr. W. P. P. Gor- ' don, lodge doctor, and Mr G. H. W. j Ewing, Hospital Association secre- • tary. ; Dr. Gordon, after congratulating the ! lodge on attaining its jubilee, ex i pressed pleasure at the presence of j Bro. G. Burgess, who was secretary ; when he first became connected with ' tlie lodge 18 years ago. Throughout ■ the whole time his relatione with offii csrs and members of the lodge had I been most harmonious. There was Itn erroneous impression that lodge 1 patients did not receive the tame ■ service as private patients, but he . assured members that there was no ; discrimination. He paid tribute to i the work of Mr Kivell as secretary : and thanked him for hit many cour- | tesies He wished the lodge many i more years of prosperity. 1 The Hospital Association was funI ctioning exceedingly and every j co-operation bad been received from ( the Foresters’ Lodge, ta id Mr Ewi ing. Bro. Vickery, in proposing the toast lof Court Stratford', said that to-day ! the lodge had 393 members and that ! alone showed the progress and enterprise of the Court. He felt sure that the same progress would attend the activities of the lodge in the future. He had been a member of Court Stratford since 1891, said! Bro. Burgess, before giving reminiscences of his early associations wfth the lodge. Bro. B. V. Kivell, who was secretary for six years, spoke of the good work of Bro. Burgess in that capacity. Unique Association. I The unique association of the Kivell family with the lodge was mentionedl by Bro. R. E. J. Kivell. For nearly 17 years he had been secretary, his father, the late Mr R. H. ! Kivell, was secretary for 10 years, , and his brother, Mr B. V. Kivell for . Six years. Seven brothers had gone j through all chairs and he had the I proud distinction of going [through twice. On the lodge books at the j present time there were 14 Kivells. 1 Selections were played during the | evening by an orchestra comprised |of Mesrs C. H. Rogers (violin), P. i Brennan (piano), A. Thomson | (clarionet), C. A. Pollock (flute), j W. Elliot (cornet), A. J. Kelly (cor- | net), J. Fasher (trombone), C. FemI mel (double bass), and B. Vinsen (drums).
