Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy Re-united in M-G-M’s Film Version of Famous “Rose Marie”
Probably one of the most successful musical comedies ever staged, “Rose Marie,” will be seen on the screen at the Plaza Theatre on Saturday. Since “Naughty Marietta” first brought delight to its audiences film-goers have been waiting for the news that Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald would appear together again in another musical film. The stage version of “Rose Marie,” first produced in New York in 1924, had phenomenal success. It was shown there for two vears, opened in London in 1925 and had a two years’ season there. In the film the narrow limits of a stage do not hamper the producer and practically the whole action takes place in the Sierra Nevada mountains where beautiful lakes and vistas of pine trees provide unforgettable scenery.
