NEW AIR SERVICE

Official Opening Ceremony Press Association —Copyright. Auckland, June 23. Ceremonies to mark the inauguration of ;the Auckland-Wellington air service of Union Airways of x New Zealand Ltd. on Saturday will take place at the northern terminal of the route, the Miangere aerodrome, before the departure -of the south-bound air-liner at 10 o’clock. The aeroplane, probably the Ko tare, one of the new Lockheeds, will be named by the Mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis, and the service will be formally inaugurated by the Minister of Defence, Hon. F. Jones. Two special flights have been arranged by the company to take guests from Auckland and Wellington respectively to Palmerston North, where a luncheon will be held. There will also be a brief ceremony at Ne.w Plymouth en route.
