River Erosion In Park In a letter to the Stratford Borough Council, read at last night’s meeting, the Commissioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth, advised that he had received ?-■ complaint that the Council was removing shingle and stone from the Patca river in King Edward Park. The Mayor, Mr J. W. McMillan, informed the meeting i/t was essential to remove the accumulating shingle from a pit near the ford to prevent erosion of the opposite bank in flood times. He had asked the Department to send down an officer and see wh?<t was happening -when a flood occurred.
