OBITUARY.

MR JAMES MCDONALD. The death, of a well-known and esteemed resident of the Straitford district, Mr Jiimes McDonald, Opunake Road, Stratford, occurred in the Strritford Public Hospital on Monday after an Illness of several months. I Born in Ireland 54 years ago, Mr McDonald came to New Zealand about 27 years ago, taking over a 1 farm on Monmouth Road. Later he farmed at Eltham before returning to Ireland on an extended visit. On coming back to New Zealand he took up farming in the Stratford dlsltrict. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Mrs P. Uhlenberg (Waipuku), Mrs J. Walsh (Pukengthu), ! Miss Nelly McDonald, Mise Peggy I McDonald (Stratford), and two sons, | John and Jim. Mr M. McDonald I (Strafford), and Mr T. McDonald I (Ngaere) .are brothers of the deceas- | ed, and two other brothers are living m Ireland. Mrs Cusack (ELham) is j a sister.
