The course was in good order, and the attendance was satisfactory. Totaiisatdr investments were £lO,916, compared with £7094 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £17,876, an increase of £647' 10s. The following rehandicaps for the Waipa Racing Club’s winter meeting at Te Awamutu on Saturday have been declared:— ' Hack and Hunters’ Steeplechase.— Lucidus, 71bs., making 11.3. Woodstock Stakes. —Day Wind, 41n., making 8.4. W. G. Park Steeplechase.—Lucidus, 71b., making 9.8. Orakau Hurdles. —Boughal, 71b., making 9.11. Hairini Hack Handicap.—Gay Rebel 61b., making 9.11; Besiege, 61bs., making 9.7. The weights for the Arapuni Handicap were originally cast with a 7.7 minimum, whereas it should have been 8.0. The rules of racing state that any meeting held on any day from June 1 in any year to August 31 in the next succeeding year inclusive the lowest weight to be carried in any flat race other than the principal flat race on each day of any meeting shall not be less than 8.0. The principal flat race at the -meeting is the Woodstock Stakes, which has a 7.7. minimum. The weights have been amended accordingly.
