Social And Personal » Miss M. Whittle was a bridge hostess on Friday night. * * * Miss P. Mason is visiting her sister, Mrs J. Gouge. * * * Mrs R. Stokes entertained some friends at afternoon .tea. on Thursday afternoon at her residence, Brecon Road, those present being: Mesdames V. Fookes, J. Coupe, W. Shaw, E. C. A. Gaw. S. McGregor; the Misses Houle and Mason. * * -StMrs G. Hall, Mountain Road North, was “at home” on Friday afternoon. She. received her guests in a becoming black lace frock with velvet coat. Those present were: Mesdames D. J. Malone, J. Fredric, H. Kirkwood, C. Lambert, H. Graham. J. c. Lyons, A. Coleman, C Marchant, R. R. Tyrer; J. H. Cresswell: Lindup and Miss Taylor. * * * Among those in the ‘‘Maid of the Mountains” audience at New Plymouth on Thursday were: Mr and Mrs Deare; Mr and Mrs Porrltt, Mr and Mrs C. Ennis, Mr and Mrs Carrington; Mr and Mrs L. Smith; Mr and Mrs Campbell; Mr and Mrs Fazakerley; Mesdames Kivell, Whitmill; Misses P. Dwyer, C. and M. Lennon; C. Whitmill; M. Ferguson; Z. Aagard; J. Francis; M. Phillips: N. Melville; Mason; Williams; M. Foley; K. Cowan; D. Kehely: Hastedt and M. Porritt.
