Cablegram To Soviet
Press Association —Copyright. London, June 18. It is reported from Mexico City that the Russian exile, M. Leon Trotsky, has sent the following cablegram direct to the Soviet Central Executive Committee: —- “M. Stalin’s policy is leading to complete collapse, internally as well as externally. The only salvation is to turn the Soviet into a democracy, beginning with an open review of the last trials. I offer my complete support along this road.” From Moscow it is reported that'.the ferocity of the purge in Russia is apparently unappeased.
The Government has announced that the discovery of crop wreckers has only begun, and will be developed on “broad lines.”
This is considered to be the prelude to a new campaign of terrorism in the agricultural areas. Many officials and farm directors have been arrested on .charges of sabotage. Several party leaders have committed suicide in anticipation of their being arrested as Trotskyists.
