SPRINGBOKS VISIT Preparation Of Taranaki Fifteen A total of 260 seats for the first Rugby test ’mai'ich between, South Africa and New Zealand .at Wellington on August 14 has been made available to the Taranaki Rugby Union as U, preferential allocation. The union management committee spent some Lime last night deciding how they should be disposed, of. Circulars will be despatched this morning to Taranaki senior club secretaries, each of which will have two £1 seats and two Ils seats available until Sunday night. The allocation will thus account for 30 of each clast 1 of seat made available to the union. Taitnaki’s quota also includes 40 7s 6d seats and 120 5s 6d seats, all of which will also be distributed for sale to club secretaries. The clu(>s in. the larger ‘Taranaki centres will have thr.e® 7s 6d sdrts and nine 5s 6d seats and in the more scattered districts there will be two 7s 6di seats and six 5s 6d seats. This distribution will dispose' of 38 and 114 seats respectively.
The two dearer diasses consist of seats on the covered stand, land the cheaper ones are available for temporary stands. The money in payment for the Taranaki allocation must reach Wellington by June 25, after which all seats not reserved under the preferential system will be made available for public sale. The efcm-e system, the management com /Ittee decided, would be applied for the match against Taranaki. A similar basis of allocation of preferential reserved tickets to clubs and referees’ associations will be applied to 250 Ils seats in the Rugby Park covered stand and a proportionate number of ,5s 6d seats on the temporary stands. These will be opened for club reservations before booking facilities are opened to the general public.
The mode of preparation of the Taranaki Rugby fifteen to meet the South African team will be left to Mr W. A. Guy, chairman of selectors.
The committee decided not to make any recommendation regarding the concentration of players for a week’s camp but presumed that the plan of action would be discussed by Mr Guy with hit co-seiectors and the management committee with a view to incorporating air useful suggestions. It was also understood thl t> the coaching services of well known Taranaki footballers of past years would bo welcome.
