BOROUGH TREE PLANTING

CORONATION COMMEMORATION County Council Donation In response to a request from the Stratford Borough Council a donation of £5 was made by the Stratford County Council at to-day’s meeting to the Coronation Commemoration tree planting fund. Council J. Skitropp said it was jusft a question whether the county should contribute anything for planting of the borough streets. The clerk, Mr C. Campbell, who is a member of the committee set up after the disbandment of the coronation committee, to deal with the tree planting scheme, considered it would be Atting to make a donation. The county council had not been called upon to pay anything towards the cost of the celebrations owing to the good work of the Stratford committee.
