Stratford-Tukapa Match Arrangement
Because Stnaitford and Tukapa senior Rugby teams will play up and down Vidtoria Park on Saturday instead of across as the two grounds are now laid out, the Centriai Rugby executive decided last night to play ithe Inglewood-Stratford fourth grade game at the School ground at 1.30 p.m.
As a curtain raiser to the senior match Elthiam and United Old Boys’ junior teams will play alt 1.15 p.m. A protest by Inglewood) that the club was not notified of (he starlting time of a recent third grade match between Inglewood and Elthani alt Elthjam was not sustained, it being pointed out that ithe time was given as 1.15 in the published list of fixtures and referees.
The annual Town v. Country match, it was decided, would be played at Sitratford on July 3 provi'dted no contingencies upset the arrangement. It wias decided to entertain the teams and ithe executive after the mach. Although members' felt there should be Another round of gradefixtures no decision was made in view of- the 'absence 1 of Inglewood, Eltham and High School delegates. It was poinlted out that it was desirable to avoid leaving the divisional winner with a gap of several weeks before a championship play-off and thiat the matter had been left *to the executive, but it was decided to circularise all clubs wilth fourth grade teams asking for a reply by Saturday, failing which agreement will be taken for granted. The larrangement of a match between the central division junior representta'tive fifteen and a team from junior division will be requested from the Taranaki Rugby Union, which is to.be- asked if it will be possible to play the match as one of the curba in -raisers Kb the Spring-boks-Taranaki game. A knock-out competition was suggested for first junior teams at the end of the round play in threle wieek®' time. Mr W. Rae indicated that a trophy would probably be available Ji nd it was decided to give the matter favourable consideration if dates could be arranged that would not clash with inter-prOviincial fixtures. Those present were Messrs F. J. Nolan (chairman), P. Anderson, W. R. Rae, J. Sangster, E. Cannon, P. Horn and A. G. Pdtrie (secretary).
