Social And Personal Miss Bartlett has returned from the north, where she visiteldi relatives. * * ♦ Mrs Steven, Mrs Furrie and Mrs Uniacke were bridge hostesses this week. * * * Miss Elcomb has returned from Auckland, where her vacation was spent with her parents. * * * Miss Helen Bremner, of the staff of the Public Hospital, Hamilton, is spending her vacation with her mother, at Stratford. * * * Mrs E. W. Hancock left by the mail train this morning for Wanganui, where she will be the guest of her daughter-in-law, Mrs W. T. Hancock. * * * The sale, of Work held in the Parish Hall under the auspices of the Church of England Mission Fund was a financial success, the attractive stalls being well laden and most Inviting’. Among the ladies present were Mesdames H. Good, Ch. Pehn, S. Porritlt, E. H. Young, W. Stokes, Newell, E. S. Walker, W. Burgess, D. Whittington, H. C. Johnson, J. C. Robins, R. CutfieM, Coward, F. A. Hall, Middleton, Fredric, H. Milne (Toko), Needham, Thorpe, Law, F. Vlntoh, J. Anderson, D. W. McLean, D. Shannon (Cardiff), Rowell, Sole, C. Martin, J. Donnat, Lindup, R. Jardine, Marfell, Galbraith, Carryer (2). The cake was won by Mrs Jardine.

The ball organised by ithe W.D.F.U. and held in the Town, Hall last ing war ia well managed function and very enjoyable, and certainly deserved more support. An excellent supper was provided, Mrs Vinsen being in charge. Mrs Burton decorated the tables charmingly with red chrysanthemums ' nd scarlet holly berries and streamers. The hall looked! festive with streamers of the Division’s colours, red, white, blue and green, a huge wheel in the centre of the ceiling supporting the varied-colour-ed streamers. Some of the ladies present were: Mesdames Lamplough, Burton, Ireland, Savage, Seek, Spearman, Childs, Vinsen; Cook; Wells; Dickson; Burgess; Beere; Davis; Gaw; Marsh; Cleland; Wisnewski; Misses Spearman (2), G. Brown; Elgar; Bradshaw; Aitken; Bound; Lash; Kelly (2); James; Lamplough (2); Burton; Ireland; Kovaleski (2); Whittle; R. Furrie; Dickton; Swieters; Henderson; Donnelly; Irving; Pollard:; Skoglund; Heddidge; Cannon; Batten; Dwyer; MUrton; Francis; Howard; McDonald; Wilson; Hunlt; Bayly; Ward; Sutton; Dick; Billing; Paynter; Rogers; Carter; James; Marwick and a host of others from the outlying districts. The music was? supplied by Vinson’s orchestra.
