ate scores against the weaker coun, ties.
The Sunday Times, in welcoming the appointment of Robins as captain for the firsit Test, predicts. l the following team: Barnett, Hutton, Hammond, Leyland, Hardstaff, Ames, Langridge, Robins, Stephenson, Cover and Faroes. A notable feature of the forecast is the dropping of
Verity. It is evident that the English selectors believe the tourists are more uncertain with fast bowling than with slow, as is Illustrated l by the suggested inclusion of Fames, Gover and Stephenson, and the exclusion of Sim. The English team is ex_ peeted to be chosen nexit Sunday, The New Zealand team will be selected on the morning of the match. Except for Moloney, it may not differ from "that now playing Middlesex.
