Signor Mussolini is the defendant in an action by Haile Selassie seeking the recovery of £30(0,000 for shares in the French railway from Djibouti to Addis Ababa which Hail Selassie received in recognition for permiesion to pass through Abyssinian territory.
When Haile Selassie fled from Abyssinia he decided to sell the stock but Italy objected on the ground that it wtis owned by the Abyssinian Government, |to which Haile Selas-
sie was no longer attached. Haile Selassie, however, contends thlit he still holds the title to the stock as head of the Government recognised by France, which has. not recognised the conquest of Abyssinia.
