PENSIONS TOTAL £4,300,000.
The estimated value of civil pensions paid in New Zealand to-day is £4,309,097. These pensions, excluding war pensions, embrace old age, widows’, invalidity, Maori War, miners’, epidemic*and family allowances. This information given to a deputation at Auckland yesterday by Hon. W. E. Parry. He said thalt at the nd of April there were 54,937 old age pensioners costing at March last £2,413,103, with the estimated annual V_lue of £3,095,000.
