A.crowd of 3.0,000, double that present on the corresponding day last year, thronged the Ellerslie course today for the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s Great Northern j steeplechase, meeting. Sunny weather favoured one of the largest winter tendances in years. The track was very j holding. The totalisator handled £72,189 10s, against £40,037 10s last year, an increase of £32,152.
