QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE
MR JORDAN’S SPEECH BLUE PENCILLING ALLEGATION Mr Eden’s Firm Denial Press Association —Copyright. Received June 10, 11.30 a.m. London, June 9. In the House of Commons to-day the Foreign Secretary, Mr Anthony Eden, made the. following statement: “The reports that I influenced Mr Jordan at Geneva on May 29 are entirely without foundation. Every government is entitled to its own viewpoint. The reports that I blue-pencilled his speeches are entirely inaccurate.” Miss Ellen Wilkinson: “Is it a fact that Mr Eden made no representations which caused Mr Jordan to' modify his speech?” Mr Eden: “I think my answer is quite clear. Mr Dalton: Does Mr Eden not welcome the sincere wholehearted support of the Covenant of the League by New Zealand?
Mr Eden: I welcome support from all Goverments and Dominions.
