DEPUTATIONS RECEIVED
Primary And High School Requirements Deputations from the Stratford Technical High School Board and the Stratford school committee were received at Stratford on Tuesday by the Hon. P. Frater in his capacity as Minister of Education. Mr Fraser was accompanied by Mr N. T. Lambourne, Director of Education. A request for a new manual block comprising woodwork, cookery, drawing and geography rooms was made tor the board by Mr J. McAllister, chairman; other members present being Messrs W. J. Polson, M.P., A. Fergusson, T. T. Murray, J. H. Thomas and A. H. R. Amess (principal). Trouble with stormwater in the primary school corridor and the absence of good lighting in the south, ern wing were referred to by Messrs J. Morrison (chairman), N. Fergus, son and L. J. Furrie (headmaster), as a school conimitr.ee deputation. Holes had to be bored in the floor to allow water to drain away from the corridor, said Mr Furrie, who recommended (he placing of a window in the eastern end of the southern wing to give' light to the two end rooms’. An investigation into the best means to remedy both situations was promised by Mr Fraser, who mentioned the unsuitability from certain aspects f school buildings in brick.
