The Stratford branch of the British Drama League are holding their monthly social play reading evening dotniglk and Hhe (evening prornKscis to bh one of the most successful yet held. * * * An engagement pf interest to Stratford recently announced is that of Jean Isobel. youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Pellew, Courtney Street, New Plymouth, to Malcombe Harold, only son of Mr and Mrs A. H. Gaze, formerly of Stratford, and now residing at Cover Street, New Plymouth. * * * A very jolly party was given on Saturday night by Mrs Reath (Douglas), the occasion being the twentyfirst birthday of Mist J. Boyle. Those present were: Mr and Mrs Gaw, Mr and Mrs Scott, Mr and Mrs W. i<cCrgcken, Mr and Mrs R. Stokes, Mr and Mrs Ennis, Mr and Mrs M. Ford, Mrs L- Boyle, the Misses B. and M. Sangster, M. McKenzie, A. Coyne.C. Yandle, N. Enn it, J. Baster and H. Houle, The birthday cake was cut at supper time by Mise Boyle.
