The Springboks simply had another practice match on Saturday, when they overwhelmed South Australia by 55 to 3. The manager, Mr Percy Day, | said the performance of the visitors ; was entirely satisfactory in view of the limited opportunity to train. Many passes were fumbled and for a period the backs showed definite uncertainty, but they expect an improvement when training begins in earnest. The remainder of Qie 29 players were given a trial on Saturday, the first batch having played in Western Australia. The speed and ability of the burly forwards was remarkable. The particular star was Brand, who converted eight tries and kicked a penalty goal.* There were brilliant movements which will provide education to South Australian players. Harris, Bester, and. Williams were, a strong combination Babrow was another classy player. Brand was amazing in his left foot punts and drop-kicks. The forward play and the cross-kicking of the Springbok pack were also a revelation to South Australia.
