Social and Personal Mrs A. Cahill has returned from Wanganui. * * * Mesdames R. R. Curtis and Grey, Olivia Street, were bridge hostesses on Wednesday evening. * * * Mrs A. W. Budge entertained friends at bridge on Thursday afternoon. * * * Mrs Neilson, of Wanganui, is visiting her daughter, Mrs T. Urwin, Cor. delia Street. . * * * A cable message from Rome states that Princess Emfalda, second daughter of King Victor Emmanuel of Italy, has given birth to a daughter. *T * * Mrs Ebbett entertained friends at bridge at her residence in Brecon Road on Wednesday evening. Those playing were: Mr and Mrs W. H. Simons, Mr and Mrs Coupe, Mr and Mrs L. G. Pope.

Mrs l R. Stokes, Brecon Road, gave a small parity on Thursday. Those present were: 'liiesdames L. G. Pope, N. H. Moss, B. Bellringer, R. Carryer, F. Bodie, N. H. Ebbett, and Miss H. Houle.

Mrs Coupe was "at home” on Wednesday—afternoon. She wore a becoming frock of brown rayon, and some lovely shades of mauve and lemon chrysanthemums decorated the drawing room. Thos e present were: Mesdames W. T. Simons, L. G. Pope, Baden Bellringer, V. Fookes, N. H. Moss, R. Stokes and R. Strachen.
