REBEL LEADER KILLED
General Mola’s Death

Insurgent radio stations at SUlam. anca and Vittoria announce that the rebel General Mola, also his aide-de-camp, two pilots and two staff officers, were killed when their plane crashed into a mountain.side while reconnoitring the Basque front. An ironic aspect of General Mola’s death was that h e crashed an hour before the clearing of the clouds which he was awaiting for weeks in order to lannch an intensive air attack on the last line of the Bilbao defences. General Davila will succeed General Mola.
