There is a boom in wedding- rings —not the thin, fancy . sort, but thesolid, plain band that lasted Miss Victoria a lifetime. “For some time there had been almost con sale fo rt'h-e- plain wedding ring, but they are now replacing - the fancy type,” said' a representative- of a Birmingham firm of manufacturing jewellers This firm is sending out 5000 wedding rings a week because young couples in all parts o.f the country are planning to marry as near as possible to Coronation Day. There has been an unprecedented demand for rings during the past few Weeks, and the normal selas-onal sale has been vastly increased,” the firm’s representative added.
