MR LYONS’S PROPOSAL ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION Imperial Conference Consideration Press Association —Copyright. (Received TO.lO a.m.) London, June 2. The chief delegates to the Imperial Conference got to grips this morning on Mr J. A. Lyons’s Pacific Pact proposal. They had already considered the statement regarding th e matter as circulated by him y and wc/e able to-day to give a con. side red view on it.
After Mr Lyons initiated the discussion all the Dominions, according to the Associated Press Political correspondent, gave an entihusiastic reception to the idea, and are ready to support it in principle,, but the stage is not thus far reached for approaching the other Pacific Powers. It will first be necessary to formulate draft proposals to enable a further conference and discussion on them toward evolv. ing an agreed formula, after wlhfc’h consultations will occur through diplomatic channels.
