TOO MANY “AMENS”
London, May 20. “Aniens” after hymns have been banned by the vicar of Holy Trinity, Haverstockhill, London. “This is to j givb warning,” he i«;’ites in his par- | ish magazine, “that in future no ' ‘Amens’ will be sung at the end of . hymns. When we have exalted our | spirits to God and tried to deepen our • understanding of His character by singing a fine hymn to an inspiring tune, why should we spoil it all by giving out a prolonged groan at the end.”
