Apple Ginger Pudding One pound of cooking apples, 3oz self-raising flour, J level teaspoon ground ginger, ilb golden syrup, loz butter. 1 egg, sugar and water. Peel and quarter the apples, core them, then cut into slices. Stew till tender, adding sugar to taste and a little water. Mash the fruit to a pulp, and pour it into a buttered piedish. Warm the golden syrup and melt the butter in a saucepan. Add to the beaten egg, then stir into the flour, which has been sifted with the ginger. Mix and beat well, then pour over the apple pulp. Bake in a very moderate oven.
