WOMEN’S TOPICS.

Social and Personal t Mrs D. Smith is at present staying with relatives in Feilding. Mrs Greenthields, of Otoinga, and Miss Miller are the guests of Mrs L. C. Jolly, Page Street. The Misses Betty and J. Hale, Fenton Street, were Joint hostesses at a delightful pirty held on Saturday afternoon as a farewell to Miss L, Penn, who is leaving for Samoa for a few months, and Mist G. Amess, who returned to Auckland. Those present were: Misses L. Penn, G. Amess. M. Malone, M. Lyons, M. Whittle. O. Masters, S. and P. Nowell. J. Mark J. Jackson, B. Macalister, M. Power. The competitions were won by Miss O. Masters and Miss G. Amest Members of the Ai dican Church held a very enjoyable -social evening on Monday. Among those piescnt were: Mr and Mrs 11. C. Johnson, Mr and Mr- Day, Mr and Mrs McBeth., Mr and Mrs W. J Hall, Mr anti Mrs Wells, Mr and Mrs W. Williams, Mr and Mrs Gee, Mr and Mrs Anstis, Mr and Mrs Tilley, Mr and Mrs Cutfield, Rev. McFarland, Mesdames E. H. Young, Coward, Carryer (sen):, Galbraith, Erickson, C. Masters, the Misses Tlaylor, Cartwright (2), Cutfield, Pederson, Ailsa Aitken, E. Moon, Galbraith, Esplin, Patterson, Middleton (2), Anstis, Cartwright, etc. A very enjoyable programme was submitted. Songs were contributed by Mesdames H. C. Johnson, C. Masters, Mcßeth and MiRay, and vocal duett.- were given by the Misses Cartwright, recitations Miss' Ailsa Aitken, musidal monologues Mr W. J-. Hall, Miss E. Moon and Mies Galbraith played the accompaniments, <the Rev. K. McFarland contributed amusing reminiscences.
