DISASTROUS SNEEZE
CRACKED A RIB Life Seeking Adventure Southampton, May 15. Mr Alfred Edward Woodham, of Shakespeare Avenue, Southampton, is very disgusted. After a lifetime spent in roaming the world searching for adventure, he has cracked a rib against the arm of a chair while sneezing! Here are some of the things Mr Woodham, who is 74, has done: Served as guard to Jameson raid. Acted as guard to African convicts. Taken part in the Klondyke gold rush. Grown oranges in Florida and fruit in the Cape. Served in the Bechuanaland and Australian poKce. Ran a poultry "farm in the United States. Taught in a Leicester school during the war. “Only English weather’ could produce a cold that would lead to a sneeze that would break a rib,” Mr Woodham grumbled. “Still” —smiling—“I’m going to get over this, for I’ve got to have some more adventures.”
