APPROACHING MARRIAGE
DUKE AND MRS WARFIELD CHATEAU A BOWER OF FLOWERS Wedding Gift From Host And Hostess Press Association —Copyright. Received May 31, 11.5 a.m. Paris, May 30. The Duke of Windsor’s marriage, though performed in a luxurious room at the Chateau de Cande, will be identical with thousands of weddings that are carried out daily. The Duke and Mrs Warfield will sit together, flanked by the witnesses, and the Mayor of Monts will conduct the ceremony and pronounce them man and wife. The Mayor will present them with an 8-page paper covered Livret de Famille, in which all particulars will be inscribed. Six of the pages will contain twelve spaces for the registration of children. Mayors, when performing marriages, generally indulge in the joke that when the twelve spaces are filled another book can be obtained. The wedding ring will have no place in the ceremony. * A message from Tours says’ that Mr and Mrs Bedaux, host and hostess of the Duke of Windsor and Mrs Warfield at the. Chateau de Cande, have present--ed them with a wedding present —a carved wooden statuette representing a man and woman embracing, and bearing a jewelled plaque inscribed: “The Kiss.” The recipients were delighted with the gift which has been placed prominently among the presents. The Chateau will be a bower of flowers for the wedding day. Special floral artists have been engaged to decorate the room. Mrs Warfield’s bridal bouquet will be brought by aeroplane from London.
