Mrs W. F. left this morning on a holiday visit to Whangarei. Archdeacon G. IT. Gavin has returned to New Plym-outh after conducting a retreat of Christchurch clergy. Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, left Wellington for the South Island last evening ' Mr H. C. Johnson was appointed selector for the Winter Shield team :by the- meeting of the Taranaki H ;c. ' key Association at Eltham on Thursday night. I Mr V. S. Forbes, vic?-principal of 1 the Rajkumar College, Raipua, Cenitral Province, India, arrived at WelI lington yesterday in the Maunganui I from Sydnsy, 'o spend four months’ i holiday in the Dominion i Mr T M. Hinkley, newly.appoint;ed manager of the New Zealand Press I Association, arrived at Wellington ! yesterday in the Maunganui from ; Sydn?y to take up his new duties. He . was formerly in charge of the Sydney ’ branch office. ' Mr J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Under. i Secretary in charge of housing, returned to Wellington from Blenheim by aeroplane yesterday. During the past few days Mr Lee has been visiting Christchurch and the North Can. i terbury and Marlborough centres on I Government housing business. I I Miss N. Power, who is leaving the ■ staff of the Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society. Ltd., to be married, received a presentation yesterday of a bronze fireside set. The good wishes of the firm and staff were conveyed by the manager, Mr W. E. Williams.
