Others possessing maiden chances are Gala, People’s Idol, Race Boy and River Fealo. Preferen.ee may be shown for VADANOE, GOLDEN RILL, SILENT ACRE. * * * POROUTAWHAO HURDLES, of £125. One mile and five furlongs.— Red Sun 12.6, Beau Gallante 11.7, Contact 11.0, John Charles 10.10, Red Manfred 10.8, Ethiop 10.0, Iddo 9.10, King Thomond 9.7, Taumau 9.6, Red Rufus 9.3, Kentucky Song, Ythan, Pahiko 9.0.
Red Sun is class but h.is burden appears too great. Beau Gallante will carry his weight all the way and nitty be placed. Contact appears to stand up to racing since his operation and is a speedy jumper. Ethiop has been expected tto perform much better and this may be his ebay. John Charles may not have been up long enough, but interest may centre round Red Manfred making his debut. Taumau continues to school well and with Red Rufus and Kentucky Song may carry fair support; Those filling places may b& ETHIOP, CONTACT. BEAU GALLANTE. * * * FOXTON CUP, of £175. One mile and a quarter.—Pukeko 9.3, Onewhetu 8.9, Gay Boy 8.8, Rona Bay 8.9, Lapel 7.13, Davistock 7.12, Gold Mission 7.12, Round Score 7.8, Tahurangi 7.8, Even Money 7.7, Windscreen, 7.7. Pukeko is well and deserves strongsupport, whilst Onewhetu needs 'to improve very little on his Hawera showings to be in the money. Rona Pay and Gay Boy both have winning form and may claim equal support with the two above them. Lapel comet in nicely here and recent placing s of merit proclaim him as a possible surprise. Geld Mission is a prospect in which ever race she is Produced, whilst Round- Score, Tahurangi, Davistock and Even Money are not chancelezs. Windscreen, left several lengths at Hawera, ran a good race, and with any luck at the barrier may upset the field. Something lucrative may result from LAPEL, ONEWHETU, WINDSOREEN.
* * * HIMATANGI HANDICAP, of £lOO. Six furlongs.—Airing 9.13, Royal Record 8.12, Golden Chest 8.8, Dawning Light 8.5, Eara 8.3, Diamond Cutter 8.3, Marjory Daw 8.3, Manlyn 8.0, Gladium 7.13, Prince Mulla, Youssipoff 7.10,,5t. Roger, Helios, Sporting Gift, Script, Fleeting Arrow, Silent Acre 7.7, Another large field-must produce a leng range of wagering. Airing is a fit horse, and, it started here, a good prospect, but may find Eara, with one stone less, hard to dispose of. Royal Record and GoHten Chest are both well and with Marjory Daw arid Diamond Cutter, deserve good support. Gladium will .favour the easy going and with Helio® and Merlyn, comprise an outside trio with chances. Some good improvers complute the field, but can hardly be recommend, ed place, getters may be EARA, AIRING, DIAMOND CUTTER. * * * WHIROKINO HACK AND HUNTERS’ STEEPLES, of £lOO. Two miles and a-quarter.—Sporting Song 11.6, Hunting Jay 11.13, Royal Banquet 11.0, Croydon 10.5, Battleground Petrarch 10.2, Rioghail 10.1, Otaura Kid 10.0, Padnos 9.5, Scorcery, Planter, Royal Fire 9.0. Sporting Song may be the public choice, but may find 'difficulty in conceding this weight to Petrarch which mist be ready now for a clear' 1 cut
win. Hun'/ng Jay is a “Jay.” Royal Banquet requires a race as also does Croydon. Battleground and Rioghail make appeal whilst Royal Fire went so well at Hawera to deserve a place hero Otaura King and Pad nos are possibles, whilst Sorcery may do well at this game. Place horses may be PETRARCH, BATTLEGROUND, ROYAL FIRE. * * * ”"!V! KEBBELL MEMORIAL HANDICAP, of £125. Seven furlongs.— Passion Fruit 9.1, Red Manfred 8.12, Gold Mission 8.9, Essex 8.6, Sir Nigel 8.5, Airing 7.11, Hunting Lodge, 7.7, Reipar, High Test, Snowball, Windscreen, Solaria 7.7. Passion Fruit is a surprise acceptor best left alone. Red Manfred is presumed to be an earlier starter, but if reserved, is a fair prospect, Gold Mission likewise Essex accordling to track work can hardly be ; ready. Sir Nigel sits nicely, is fit and due for one. Reipar is reported at top form and a defector in the Cup will be strongly supported. High Test appears to be returning to form and with Hunting Lodge, must not be neglected Airing, if reserved, has. a good chance, but Solaria is the fit horse which should shortly return to the winning list. A keen contest may result REIPAR, HUNTING LODGE, SOLARIA * * * MOUTOA HACK HANDICAP, of £lOO. Eight furlongs and a-half.— Hunting Maid 8.10, Ruaform 8.9, Erebus 8.8, War Lap 8.5, Rqtoma 8.4, Terry 8.3, Spender 8.2, Even Money 8.0, The Sandwichman, Liane 8.0, Naughty Marietta 7.13, Happy Hunting 7.11, Warehi, Youssipoff 7.10, Patagonia, Cloudy Bay, Galteemore 7.8, St. Roger, Parakino, Golden Rill 7.7. Here is a field of twenty over a distance of ground giving them all a chance. Hunting Maid, paraded well and ran well at Hawera and deserves support. Ruaform alt present it Kpo risky. Erebus fails to see the distance. War Lap, Rotoma and Terry m ! ake appeal, whilst Liane, Naughty Marietta, Happy Hunting and Warehi should all be well supported. Cloudy Bay and Patagonia are two who may any day now upset these hacks. GaL teemore’s double win recently proclaims.' his chances, whilst The Sandwichman is a useful and ’langerous one| The others will be at long prices. A Harge pool on this big field i should produce a dividend from any 1 , of these CLOUDY BAY, NAUGHTY MARIETTA, WAREHI.
