England To Australia Press Association—Copyright. Canberra, May 28. The new air mail service between Australia and London will commence in January, 1938. It will provide for an initial schedule of ten days, with a progressive reduction to seven days. The postage rate will be reduced from Is 6d to 5d a half ounce. The Commonwealth subsidy will be a maximum of £50,000 a year. New Empire flying boats are to be used on trial for two years on the Australian section of the route from Sydney to Singapore. The Acting-Prime Minister, Dr Earle Page, announced to-day .that agreement had been reached between the Government of the United Kingdom and Australia.
