HOUSE SET ON FIRE
Sequel To Milk Roundsman’s Thefts Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, May 26. Horace Raymond Edlin, aged 31, a milk roundsman in the employ of a private company, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day to a charge of breaking and entering on January 1, 1936, a house at Island Bay land stealing a radio set, imitation pearls, a pair of glass ear-rings' and' 255, of a total value of £25 ss, rand with wilfully setting fire to the house on January 2. The evidence of the occupier of the house, Mr J. L. Looner, was that he and his wife were away on a holiday at the time. They returned on January 3 and found the house had been damaged by fire and things were missing. The damage by fire and wafer amounted to £53. He identified .Jie property at the detective office. Edlin alto pleaded guilty to a summary charge relating to the theft at Christchurch on March 12 of a suitcase and contents vltlued at £6 ss, which were taken from the railway station while the owner was absent. He was sentenced to six months’ im--1 prUonment with hard labour.
