POLISH POGROM

Jews At Mercy Of Rioting Mob Press Association —Copyright. London, May 26. Details of a terrible Polish pogrom at Brest Litovsk lasting 15 hours, during which the Jewish population of 22,000 were at the mercy of a mob, are disclosed by a special correspondent of the Manchester Guardian. Whole streets of houses and shops were wrecked and looted, synagogues? and schools were demolished and hundreds of the poorer Jews were ruined. The rioters were chiefly peasants led by agitators of a Fascist anti-Semite' party. Most of those who were not Jews often applauded the looters, though others courageously saved Jewish property from destruction. The Minister of 'the Interior has ordered an inquiry.
