LIVE SNAKES

Hundreds Captured For Zoos Sydney, May 26. When a dust-begrimed car and trailer stalled in ‘the heart of Sydney to-day, .the curious crowd' which gathered ascertained that the trailer’s freight consisted of 700 live snakes, ranging from pythons to death adders. They were caught by 4a, professional snake catcher, Rudolph De Haume,. aged 27, in outback and .central Australia. Mr De Haume explained that the snakes were mostly for shipment to London and Continental zoos. Payment for .them would be made' at a rate per foot.
