SHEEP RUN ABANDONED.

With the virtual abandonment of the Molesworth run, history is being made in the annals of the pastoral industry of the South Island, and it is feared that the consequences will be far-reaching, says the Christchurch Press. The largest sheep and cattle station in New Zealand has gone out of production largely because of the j burden of overhead costs, and, unless 1 remedial measures are applied by the Government, there is a possibility of further large areas of high-country grazing land being abandoned.
